Registry of Deeds 2022 holiday schedule:
The Registry of Deeds is open to the public. Please call if you have questions regarding research as space will be limited.
Nantucket Registry of Deeds will be accepting documents for recording and registration by e-filing (recorded land only), mail, FedEx, UPS and drop off.
Any packages with deeds requiring Land Bank approval can be sent to/dropped off at the Land Bank and they will be dropped off at the Registry after they are processed.

The Registry of Deeds is a recording office and research library for land transactions in Nantucket County. Documents recorded are related to the ownership of real estate within Nantucket County. Examples of such documents include, but are not limited to, deeds, mortgages, easements, liens, plot plans and subdivision plans.
The Nantucket County Registry of Deeds has records dating back to 1659 and the public has access to them all. To assist customers in finding relevant documents, the registry has a searchable index that contains the names of all parties related to a document and the property address. Recorded documents are assigned a sequential identifying number depending on the type of real estate (such as a book/page reference or a document/certificate number) and are then scanned into the registry’s computer system. After scanning, the images are available to view and/or print* from public access terminals at the registry and at your home or office over the Internet.
*There are fees for printing documents and plans from the public access terminals at the Registry of Deeds. However, at this time, printing documents and plans from your home or office is free.
