Residential Parking

RESIDENTIAL PARKING REGULATIONS:

Residents in the Parking District may purchase parking permits for on-street parking in 2-hour zones (maximum of 96 hours during enforcement period of June 1 - September 30). You must own or lease/rent for a minimum of 90 days in the highlighted parking district: Parking District Map (Effective June 1, 2018).

RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMITS:

Parking permits for the Residential Parking District are available online or in-person via the applications below. Enforcement of the 2-hour zones in the Residential Parking District occurs between June 1 - September 30. Please provide the following with application:

  • Copy of vehicle registration
  • Proof of Residency: (Tax Bill; Utility Bill; Lease)
  • Fees made payable to Town of Nantucket
  • Mail to PSF, Permits, 4 Fairgrounds Road, Nantucket 02554


ONLINE:

  • Residential Parking Permits may be purchased online beginning January 1:  RESIDENT PARKING PERMIT APPLICATION 
  • Please have the following information available. Proof will need to be included in the application:
    • Copy of vehicle registration
    • Proof of residency for home owners: Tax or utility bill
    • Proof of residency for long or shirt term renters: Current Lease (must include address, leases name, and dates residing). Must be a minimum of 90 days. 
  • FEES:  
    • If purchased by May 31: $50 (for the first 2 permits per address) $250 (each additional permit)
    • Purchased after May 31: $100 (for first 2 permits per address)  $500 (each additional permit) 

IN-PERSON:

  • The Permits window is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at 4 Fairground Road in the Public Safety Facility.
  • PLEASE HAVE THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU AT THE WINDOW:
    • Complete Application (Also available to fill-out in the lobby): RESIDENTIAL PARKING STICKER APPLICATION
    • Copy of vehicle registration
    • Proof of Residency for home owners: Tax Bill or Utility Bill
    • Proof of Residency for Long or Short Term Renters: Current Lease (must including address, Leases name, and dates residing). Must be minimum of 90 days.
    • Payment: MasterCard; Visa; Cash; Check Made Payable to Town of Nantucket. 
  • FEES:  
    • If purchased by May 31: $50 (for the first 2 permits per address) $250 (each additional permit)
    • Purchased after May 31: $100 (for first 2 permits per address)  $500 (each additional permit)
