TANKS AND PROPANE

Dispose: Harbor Fuel (10 Airport Road, 508-228-2950) takes home heating tanks for a fee.

 Propane tanks for grills can be taken to Yates Gas (20 Arrowhead Drive, 508-228-0725).

TAPE

Dispose: Tape is Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC). Tape does not need to be removed from Shipping Boxes for recycling, unless the box is covered in more than typical amount of tape necessary to close the box. Boxes covered in tape can be separated into Shipping Box Recycling (the box) and Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC) (the tape), or go in Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).

TEA BAGS

Compost: Tea bags made from a natural paper filter bag are Compostable Waste (C). When in doubt about the type of material, dispose in Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).

Dispose: Tea bags made with a plastic mesh bag are Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC). When in doubt about the type of material, dispose in Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).

Tea bag packaging: Paper packaging is Compostable Waste (C). Plastic packaging is Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC). When in doubt about the type of material, dispose in Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).

TETRAPACKS

Dispose: All Tetrapacks are Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC). Products commonly packaged in Tetrapacks include soup, broth, tomato sauce, and juice.

TELEVISIONS

TEXTILES

Reuse: CLEAN clothing, linens, and other textiles can be:

  • Donated to local thrift stores
  • Brought to the Take-It-or-Leave-It  
  • Sent to Goodwill for free (or a charity of your choice) through Give Back Box.

Dispose: All textiles are currently Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).

THERMOMETERS

Dispose: All mercury-containing products should be brought to a Hazardous Waste Collection Event.

TINS

Recycle: Tin cans go in Tin/Aluminum Recycling with all other food and beverage cans, bottle caps and jar lids, and aluminum foil products.

Tin boxes go in Scrap Metal.

TIRES

Dispose: Bring tires to Scale House for drop-off instructions.

TOYS

Reuse: Toys in usable condition can be posted in a local online free and for sale group for pick-up or brought to the Take-It-or-Leave-It. Local thrift stores accept donations of some toys.

Dispose: Most toys are Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC). Please ask a Recycling Center attendant if you have any questions.

TOOLS

Reuse: Tools working condition can be posted in a local online free and for sale group for pick-up or brought to the Take-It-or-Leave-It.

Dispose: Most tools are Scrap Metal. Please ask a Recycling Center attendant if you have any questions.

TOILETRIES

TROPHIES

Recycle: Send trophies, plaques, and medals to Lamb Awards for recycling.

Metal medallions are Scrap Metal and the ribbon portion goes in Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).

Dispose: Trophies are Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).
