AEROSOL CANS
Dispose: Empty aerosol cans are Scrap Metal. All partially-filled aerosol cans should be brought to a Hazardous Waste Collection Event.
ALUMINUM FOIL AND OTHER ALUMINUM FOIL PRODUCTS (pie plates, food trays, etc.)
Recycle: Empty aluminum foil products are Tin/Aluminum Recycling. Food and beverage cans, and bottle caps and jar lids, also go in Tin/Aluminum Recycling.
Dispose: Dirty, heavily food-laden aluminum foil products are Non-Recyclable/Non-Compostable Waste (NRNC).

ANTIFREEZE
Dispose: Antifreeze should be brought to a Hazardous Waste Collection Event.
APPLIANCES
Reuse: Habitat for Humanity (35 Old South Road, 508-325-8912) collects working small and large appliances for reuse in their housing projects. Appliances in working condition can also be posted in a local online free and for sale group for pick-up. Small appliances in working condition can be brought to the Take-It-or-Leave-It.
Recycle: Broken and unusable large and small appliances should be brought to the Scale House for drop-off instructions. Disposal of residential units is free.
Recycle: Operating refrigerators and freezers for residential use can be recycled through the Mass Save appliance recycling program, which picks up your appliance and provides a rebate (Mass Save or 1-877-889-4761).
ASBESTOS
Dispose: Asbestos should be wetted and double bagged, then brought to a Hazardous Waste Collection Event.
ASH & SOOT
Compost: Ash and soot go in the Ash/Soot and Invasive Plants container at the Recycling Center Drop-Off.
AUTOMOTIVE PARTS
Recycle: Most automotive parts, including brake pads, are Scrap Metal. If unsure, please ask a Recycling Center attendant.
AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS
Dispose: Most automotive products contain hazardous substances and should be brought to a Hazardous Waste Collection Event.
Check the product label for:
- Signal words - DANGER, POISON, WARNING or CAUTION;
- Statements of hazards - “Flammable,” “Vapor harmful,” “Harmful or fatal if swallowed;”
- Precautionary statements - “Keep out of reach of children,” “Use only in well-ventilated areas,” “Do not mix with chlorine-type bleaches or other chemicals.”
